Hogs Vs Bama

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...

I have not enjoyed a game more than this one in a looong time!

It was such a thrilling first half!  The game started with 3 men parachuting in, which the kids really enjoyed.  Then, with the crowd on their feet, we intercepted the football and quickly made a touchdown!  At that screaming, jumping, wild moment, I remembered that we brought the kids with us....  Ah... Sophia was cowered down in a heap on the seats with her little ear plugs in and her hands over them.

Seventy something thousand screaming fans sounded a lot different than the first game where we sat and cheered like respectable adults.  So for the rest of the quarter I held her in my lap and was thanking the Lord for the big screen!

This was my view for the first quarter.

Pre-game goodness!
Thankful for a well stocked bag of tricks to keep the girl happy!
Eric has a new person to tell all about the plays to...I'm finally getting good at it...  Was that a scream pass??  ha!  One of my finer moments!

Grandpa and Grandma drove the truck up from Mississippi.  They have the coolest bed cover!  It is also fun to play under!  We had a wonderful day at the game!  Sad that the Hogs lost, but they played some exciting football!
GO HOGS!

Favorite Lunch

I think I ate this for lunch for at least 2 weeks straight before I finally could move on to something else.  I actually couldn't get enough of it!  It's just a veggie pizza...but not really..  The kids even like it!!
So I decided that it was worth sharing.

Vegetable Pizza

12 oz grated raw zucchini
2 med eggs
17 oz grated mozzarella cheese
12 oz chopped tomatoes
2 chopped green onions
1 small green pepper chopped
4 oz sliced mushrooms (I don't like them, so I leave them off)
4 oz grated fresh Parmesan cheese
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. basil
1-2 tsp olive oil

Preheat oven to 400.  Squeeze out excess moisture from zucchini with paper towels.  Mix zucchini, eggs and 12 oz mozzarella together and press into the bottom of a greased pie pan.  Bake 10-15 min.  Remove pan from oven and layer veggies and remaining cheeses on top of the "crust."  Sprinkle with oregano and basil.  Drizzle with oil.  Bake 25 min. or until cheese is lightly browned.    (I used Colby Jack cheese once and it was really good too!)

Not the prettiest pie, but tasty!
I wish I would have found this recipe earlier in the summer before my zucchini plants died!

Razorback Games

Fall means Razorback season for our family.  All weekends are in terms of home games or away games.  We get to see Grandma and Grandpa more also!

Sophia has decided that since she is 5 years old, she will now attempt things that she would never have dreamed of at 4.  She actually agreed to go to the first Razorback home game of the season.  She set the condition of only going if the cotton candy and ice cream flowed freely.  One night of pure sugar surely won't hurt you to bad. Right??

We planned ahead and brought some ear plugs, and a camera to document what could have been her only game if things didn't go right.

It turned out that she had a really great time, even without the sugar.  (Eric couldn't track down the cotton candy man.)  She found him though!

Jack had a great time also.  He was more engaged in the actual game and listened to Eric telling him all about the plays.

The Blue Man Group was given a few minute spotlight for their current tour in our area.  We can all feel good about their true loyalty to the Razorbacks!
By the way, that is a rubber-ish mask that is on their face.  I always wondered how they got all of that blue on.
Sophia is already planning what she wants for the next game.  I guess that means she's hooked too!

Go Hogs!

1st Grade Bible Presentation

I just have to share this!
Jack was presented a Bible by our pastor Sunday morning.  It is a tradition for each child who moves up into the first grade to be given a Bible.

Jack took his Bible everywhere we went today.  He was very proud that he knew where Matthew was in the Bible.  (He put a bookmark there so he could show everyone!)  He has also been very angry when Sophia doesn't want to see his Bible.  He tells me that she is being very naughty since she doesn't want to look at "THE BIBLE."

Jack and Sophia were playing Bible trivia in the car today.  Jack would ask her questions and see if she knew the answers.  I was enjoying listening to them go back and forth with a lot of good questions and answers.  I tried hard not to laugh when Sophia accidentally called John the Baptist, John the Basket.
Love those kids!

Beautiful You

Last night I attended a ladies dinner event with two of my lovely friends, Amanda and Vivian.   (I hate it when I blink! I didn't want to ask some lady to keep retaking it!)

My church holds these dinners two to four times a year.  Last night's theme was Beautiful You.  The room was packed with 450 ladies, give or take a few.

The guest speaker was Sherry Johnston from season 9 of The Biggest Loser.  She is a lovely christian lady who is using her new found fame to tell others of her love for Christ.  The panel of speakers also included a fitness trainer, a nutritionist, and the owner of Glo (gloskincare.com).

It was a good reminder for me to keep eating healthy, and keep feeding my family healthy.

The best part was when I won a door prize!  I thought I had won a book and hairspray.  When I got home and found all of this, I was really excited!!  Sophia wore my bracelets around today.  She was pretty excited about my win.

New Hair

I went to get my hair cut yesterday.  I looked online for some pictures of what might be some possibilities.  Eric got involved?!?  This was all very unusual.  As I paged through celebrities looking for a muse, Eric pointed to Julia Roberts.  What?  That one?!?  I am fairly certain that he has never liked curly hair a day in his life.
So I head to my appointment and describe the wavy Julia look I was going for.  So, this is what it turned out to be.

I like it.
I came home and felt good about it.
Then Eric came home.
He wasn't so sure about it...
Well, at least it was fixed for Girls Night!
